As a nurse, social worker and child development specialist, giving out love has always come very naturally. However, after I became a patient, I had to learn to let love come in. What a tough learning curve it was!
However, there was a great deal of time that I was so debilitated that I didn’t have a choice other than to be open and, as Morrie Schwartz says, to “let [love] come in.” This was an incredibly valuable lesson that I have done my very best to incorporate into my post-breast cancer life.
