The Silver Lining is on the New York Times Bestseller List 2014!

Today, I am thrilled, honored and humbled to let you know that The Silver Lining is on the New York Times Bestseller list. Ha! When the HOTY (Husband Of The Year) showed it to me, we were at a restaurant and he had the sweetest, most precious tears running down his face…yet another of the many reasons that he is still the HOTY!

I, on the other hand, started laughing…that weird, freakish, screechy, I can’t-believe-you-said-that kind of laugh.  Oh and I was bouncing WAY UP and WAY DOWN in my chair (the fact that I didn’t break it is still a miracle!). I literally could not believe my ears!!

Oh and the greatest thing happened today.  My oncologist emailed me to tell me that yesterday he had a woman start chemo for breast cancer and recommended The Silver Lining (talk about the ultimate compliment, by the way!).  She came in today and told him that she received not one but FIVE copies of the book, including one from a friend in London.  This made my heart, mind and soul so very happy.

After all, our ultimate goal is that The Silver Lining help everyone whose life is impacted by cancer. While the NYT status is great, the real greatness goes to the fact that it is being disseminated to people who need it. That my friends is the ultimate Silver Lining!

THANK YOU to each and every one of you who made this possible. I can’t tell you how grateful I am!

  1. Good for YOU and good for everyone who benefits because of YOU. Your gift of giving is right up there with those who donate their bone marrow and stem cells. The power of your words and wisdom will translate, resonate with the masses.God works in mysterious ways. I have learned that the hard way. Congratulations, Hollye.

  2. Oh My Goodness Hollye!! This is the best news! Congratulations to you on your best selling book, your beautiful attitude towards life and your generosity in helping others! You are amazing!

  3. Thank you so much Prissy! Wow, that is quite a comparison. My true north is trying to help everyone impacted by this horrible, awful, rotten disease. Thank you for your kind note. 🙂

  4. Wow!
It's goosebump inducing to think how many people
will be guided and comforted by your experience,
your words, and Elizabeth's beautiful photographs.
We are so proud and excited for you!!

  5. Hollye, you are an absolute inspiration for so many reasons. I am delighted that your wisdom about your struggles and triumphs is so generously shared and available to everyone. Huge congratulations…what you have done is AMAZING!

  6. Oh my gosh, your book deserves to be on the NY best sellers list!! Many Congratulations to you and Elizabeth. I live in the UK, am currently 'on my journey' through FBC, and managed to get my hands on a copy of your book (don't ask how – I work in publishing!). I can't put your book down. I am taking such massive comfort and knowledge from it Hollye. Thank you, very much, for penning your courageous journey through FBC and sharing it with the rest of the world. Wishing you well.

    1. Thank you so much for your note, Lynne. Sending all of my very best wishes to you! Though I'm so sorry that you need the book, I am so happy that it is providing you with comfort and knowledge. Please take good care of yourself and stay in touch. Hollye
PS – The Silver Lining is being published in the UK. 🙂

      1. Thank you Hollye. Yes, I know it's coming out over here but it was on advance orders only when I wanted to get my hands on it! I'm sure it will be a massive success over here as well.

  7. Thankyou Hollye from the bottom of my heart. I am a 42yr old English expat who recently moved here with my HOTY and teenage children. I discovered your book in the library here in Queensland Australia and can’t begin to tell you the strength it has given to me already. I too am a palliative care nurse of many years experience and find that in the mere month since my early BC diagnosis, it’s so difficult to find the exact support that is just what you need…your book is just that for me.
I love my nursing and as a nurse educator I would spend my time teaching others how to have difficult, caring, connecting conversations it’s pretty rubbish being on the other side…I’m was lost when I normally know just what to do, your book as held my hand and I will always be Thankful to you for that. Xxx

    1. Wow, Samantha. Your comment is truly the Silver Lining of my day. I am so very grateful for your kind note and am even more grateful that my book was able to hold your hand when you felt lost. There is truly no greater compliment that you could give me.
Thank you…and sending my very best wishes to you!
      Hollye
