Truth be told: I’m not a big TV watcher. Ask me about a reality show and I am clueless. It’s a cultural phenomenon to which I have not succombed. So, when I do find a show that I like, it’s a real Silver Lining.
And here’s one that I really (really!) like:The Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet. I like it so much in fact that last night the HOTY went to bed and I stayed up (past my bedtime!) to watch it!
Amanda de Cadenet has hit upon a terrific concept: embracing and sharing the universal language of women. She talks to one woman at a time in her Los Angeles living room. As they converse, they share what women do when cameras aren’t rolling; they talk about love, marriage and children. It’s just girl talk. No promoting anything (Silver Lining).
I’m crazy about this show because it presents an honest, authentic and raw view of the shared issues affecting women today.
Each episode of “The Conversation” features de Cadenet having powerful and in-depth interviews with some of the world’s most famous and influential women, including, among others, Gwyneth Paltrow, Miley Cyrus, Ivanka Trump, Eva Longoria, Kelly Preston, Alicia Keys, New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Lady Gaga, Donna Karan, Jane Fonda, Olivia Wilde and Gabby Sidibe.
Together with de Cadenet in the comfort of her or their own homes, they — many for the first time publicly — will tackle a wide variety of topics universal to all females, including sexuality, body image, career and finances, relationships, love and loss, politics, human rights, transformation, breakthrough and perseverance.
I hope that it strikes the same chord with you as it did with me! Enjoy!
Hollye, hope you had a happy Mother's Day. Thought the new social network "Social Weekend" might be a good match for your blog. In case you haven't run into them yet. Susan Rice
Thanks so much, Susan. I'll check it out!
