Ferris Bueller’s Day Off came out 26 years ago today, in 1986.
For a relatively small budget of $5 million John Hughes penned and directed the summer comedy that has managed to ensconce a place in the mind of pretty much anyone who can remember the ’80s.
For me, it was one of the HIGHLIGHTS of the ’80s (Silver Lining). Full disclosure: I happen to love it as much today as I did when it came out! But…Geesh. Where did the time go?
One of my favorite scenes:
Ferris: Look, it’s real simple. Whatever mileage we put on, we’ll take off.
Cameron: How?
Ferris: We’ll drive home backwards.
