Fall has finally arrived in Santa Barbara. I use the word “finally” as if to imply that the 75 degree weather that we have had up until last week was just too much to take. Ha! I guess that I am now officially a (spoiled!) Californian!
Anyhoo, I always equate fall with soup. I love soup. Love-Love-Love it.
Recently whilst in Los Angeles, I came across my new favorite restaurant: Native Foods Cafe. All vegan all the time. And oh dear heavens is it ever good. They have the MOST amazing food…and thankfully, they also have an amazing cookbook! …my kind of cookbook, I might add…which means: simple, easy and DELISH (Silver Lining)!
Today, I made one of their many amazing recipes, Whirled Peas. It is an homage to Potage Saint-Germain, a/k/a French pea soup (because I didn’t know until I looked it up!). Anyhoo, I hope that you love it as much as we are!
Do you have any favorite soup recipes that you’d like to share? I’d love to see/try them!
Love, love, love soup and Fall is my favorite season. Definitely making this for supper one day ths weekend, it's my kind of cooking, simple and delish. Thank you and yummmm!
Oh great! Be sure to add the truffle oil. It make it extra good. Enjoy! 🙂
I'm with you, Hollye, soup is the best! And YUM this sounds delicious, and the cookbook sounds great, too. I will be trying the soup and buying the book. Thank you! … As for a favorite, I did publish a roasted cauliflower soup on my blog that is one of my faves, and my readers seemed to like it, too. Here you go: http://www.francesschultz.com/1758.
