This week, I had the opportunity to (re)watch The English Patient. Remember the Academy Award winning best picture of 1996? Ok, go on ahead and get the tissues. I’ll wait…
Geeze-Louise. This film is epic. Truly epic. Every single solitary thing about it captivated me, from the music, to the cinematography, to the wardrobe, to Ralph Fiennes’ eyes. Even that doggone diary of his that he refers to as, “A good read.”
Please do yourself a favor and get a big tub of popcorn, a snuggly blanket and enjoy every moment of this film!
What a fantastic movie, dear Hollye.
Have you ever read Michael Ondaatje's poetry?
Absolutely beautiful and deep.
Try "The cinnamon peeler – selected poems" and I'm sure you'll love it.
Best from cold sunny Portugal
Hi Paula,
Thanks for your note. I haven't read The Cinnamon Peeler poems, but look so forward to it. Thank you for the suggestion! Stay warm…
Great idea! I own it and must dust it off and watch this weekend….. with blanket and popcorn too….. and kleenex.
In your pajamas, I hope! 🙂
Oh, LOVED that movie, heartbreaking, beautiful, oh, my! Definitely need at least one box of tissues and big tub of popcorn. It's one of those that stays with you.
For sure, E.B.! I can't get it out of my mind. 🙂
