  1. Hi Hollye,
My biggest silver lining is my cancer drug, which is enabling me to live an almost completely normal life. That in turn gives me the ability to find SL's everyday. And you, my friend, are the SL that keeps on giving. Thank you for helping me find them even when things get tough!
Happy and healthy New Year to you, HOTY, Sweetly Six, Buzz, and all your readers…..
    Xo

  2. My friends are my silver lining during a very difficult time. They have kept me strong when I might have gone adrift. This year is looking to be harder in some ways as my husband battles an illness with no cure, but I know I can count on the Lord providing and my friends abiding! As one my favorite bloggers, I consider you a friend as well. Keep up the good work. Stay well!

    1. Dear Leslie,
Thank you very much for your comment. I'm so sad to hear about your husband's illness, but am glad to hear that your friends and your faith are such a consistent support to you.
It is an honor for me to be your friend.
All my very best wishes to you!

  3. Hi Hollye: This is a great idea! My Silver Lining this year was watching my son graduate from Fordham University. I am a single parent and it was a proud moment for me to hear his name called and watch him receive his diploma!! It definitely was a special day that I "freeze framed" in my memory. Thanks Hollye for all that you do on The Silver Pen. May 2013 be a year full of love, laughter & good health for you & your family!

    1. Dear Mary Kate,
Thanks so much for sharing. Oh my goodness: Congratulations! This is absolutely amazing and definitely a Silver Lining of 2012. Fantastic!
      Wishing you a happy and health-FULL 2013.
      Best,
      Hollye

  4. My silver lining is that I got a benign diagnosis last week. It was my Christmas present, New Years wish all rolled into one.

  5. The silver lining for me is the connection with friends and family. . I was able to be with my aunt in her precious last days before she passed away from breast cancer prior to the start of my own battle. Since my diagnosis this July, I have enjoyed many hours with my dear family, reengaged with some friends with whom I may not have been afforded the time to spend, and been humbled by support of so many other lives who have entered mine.

    1. Dear Billi,
Thank you so much for sharing your Silver Lining. What a beautiful comment for which I am very appreciative.
Wishing you a happy and health-FULL 2013. Thank you again!

  6. Besides the SL of my husband's successful surgery in November, I am thankful for Hollye's Silver Pen daily blog. It is a daily inspiration for me to read.

Let me share with you and your readers this little poem of good cheer:

May 2013 mark the beginning of a Tidal Wave of Love, Happiness and a Bright Future.
To those who need money, may your finances overflow.
To those who need caring, may you find a good heart.
To those who have BC, may there come a cure.
To those who need friends, Hollye is here for you .
To those who need support, comfort, or a kind word, may the Silver Pen
be a silver lining for you in 2013 as it has been for me in 2012.

    1. Wow, Carolee. Wow. I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate this post. Absolutely amazing. Thank you for all of your contributions Carolee. You are a consistent and wonderful source of inspiration and Silver Linings. Best wishes for a happy and health-FULL 2013!

  7. My husband is cancer free going on 5 years now. Thank God for that. Our good thing that happened this year is that we had a grandson born in November. After a bad year of deaths in the family, He was a ray of sunshine. I am looking forward to 2013 being a better year for all of us,

  8. My biggest Silver Lining(s) this year were …
My beautiful friends and family who came with me on this trip of discovery
The strength I found inside myself that i didn't know I had
A new perky piece of plastic
My 5 year old neice telling people that Aunty Tan has a plastic boob..!
…and knowing I'm not alone when I read this page and everyone's comments on their own trip…

Love and light Hollye for 2013

  9. This has been a good year and the silver line in the good years is that you recognize and appreciate those. Sometimes the years are difficult, sad and full of worries but sometimes they are not. My silver line has been to embrace the good times this year (OK, small hick ups but all in all good things happened) and store some good energy for the upcoming year.

Thank you for your great blog and Happy New Year from snowy Finland!

    1. Beautiful, Inni. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your silver lining. It means so very much to me! Best wishes for a happy and health-FULL 2013! Please stay in touch.

  10. Hi Hollye,
Your site is beautiful. What a source of hope, inspiration and fun!
My silver lining this year is helping with the launch of Compassion It. (http://compassionit.com/) As a non-profit org we are seeking to promote daily compassionate actions in people's lives. Launching this organization has had its challenges this year but having a platform to increase compassionate actions all over the world is always a silver lining! Your site promotes compassion in a wonderful way as well.
    Warmly,
    Heather

    1. Thank you so very much, Heather. I am deeply appreciative. Thank you also for sharing your program. How wonderful that you were involved in such a fantastic project. Thank you for contributing good in the world! Best wishes and please stay in touch!

  11. Hi Hollye,
I'd say my SL this year is that my parents remained in pretty good health all year. Last year my dad was in the hospital at Christmas and I really thought that that might be our last Christmas with him. But we had another whole year in which his health became slightly better and his spirits were good. I feel very blessed to have had this year and another great Christmas with my parents. Now I'm happy for all of the time I have with them.

Thanks for all of your SL's throughout the year. My goal this year is to be more positive and you are one of my best role models on how to do this. Happy New Year to you and your family. I think there is a birthday coming up. Have you come up with Sweetly Six's next name yet?

    Victoria

    1. Wow, Victoria. What a wonderful Silver Lining! I'm so happy that you all were able to be together. That's so fabulous!
Thank you for your kind words. So very much. It means the world to me!
You are so kind to remember the upcoming birthday…we are working on names now…hint: it feels rather "sudden" that she is turning "seven". 🙂
Best wishes for a wonderful 2013!!!
