Life's Lovely Lessons

The floors in our home are from a dismantled barn from the 1800’s. Charming, yes, but (despite sanding) also splinter prone. This morning, Finally Five got a chunk of wood in her foot from running through the house barefoot. We have been telling her for eons to wear some kind of footwear in the house, even socks. But she refused. Alas.

So, as she was sobbbbbing in my lap after the assault, she said, “Momma you told me not to go barefoot. I learned this lesson the really hard way.”  Cue the tears.

Over the past year, I have learned an innumerable life lessons, many of them hard. The Silver Lining is that they are life lesson that I will remember and hold near and dear to my daily life. Because I’ve had so many life lessons this year, I’ll break them down into bite-sized morsels and share them with you weekly.

  2. Hollye,

Your story is amazing, your spirit beautiful, your grasp on life inspiring. Your sharing, though, is simply breathtaking. Thank you so much for giving of yourself and taking us along on your journey.

  3. Hi Hollye, I am a Breast cancer Survivor twice. I have always had a very possitive attitude towards life, especially since my cancer. It has certainly gotten me through some tough times. My husband of 35 yrs. and my family have been wonderful. Thank you for being such a bright spot in so many peoples lives. Nancy
