  1. You know what they say about serendipity? It's God's way of remaining anonymous. I am at a cross-road in my life right now. Trying to decide whether or not to take a MAJOR leap of faith. Have been waffling back and forth for a good bit, afraid of leaping and failing. Woke up early this morning, saw this post and realized it is not the fear of doing it and failing that is holding me back, it is the fear of success. Hmmm. I must do what I think I cannot. That Eleanor Roosevelt was one wise woman! Thanks, as always, for your posts, Hollye. Your blog along with Frances' and the Whimbles are three of my Silver Linings.

    1. Dear E.B., I'm super excited to hear about the endeavor for which you are going to take the leap of faith. This is WONDERFUL news! Well, whatever you do, having the courage to move forward it extraordinary. All of my best wishes, always!

  2. I'm a male, not that it really matters, and diagnosed with breast cancer just over a month ago. I've been doing my best to keep it together and get a treatment plan in place. I visited your site for the first time today, and your quote from Eleanor Roosevelt reached out and slugged me in the gut, hard. It gave you goosebumps? Well, it made me cry in great heaving sobs, and I can't tell you how great that felt. Thank you, Hollye, for sharing this. And thank you Eleanor, for turning me to face in the right direction yet again. I can do this; it's only hard, not impossible.

    1. Thank you so very, very much for your note. I'm sending my very best wishes to you and YOU are inspiring me to do a post on men who are diagnosed with breast cancer and the unique issues that you face. If you would like to contribute anything (thoughts, feelings), I (and The Silver Pen) community would welcome them. Sending my very best to you!
