Bookworm: Charlotte Moss: A Visual Life

Yesterday was a happy, happy day because I received my highly anticipated copy of Charlotte Moss: A Visual Life. Her Visual Life is a virtual Visual Feast!

In the book, she shares her lifelong passion for beautiful and artfully arranged scrapbooks and collages. The book is organized by some of my favorite themes: travel, gardens, interiors, entertaining.

Charlotte also invites some fabulous women of style to share their Visual Life, including Wall Street Journal Magazine editor Deborah Needleman, Vogue editor Candy Pratts Price, former Town & Country editor Pamela Fiori, interior designer Alexa Hampton and Washington philanthropist Deeda Blair.

I feel incredibly inspired and motivated to (finally!) contend with my boxes and piles of photos and keepsakes (including a multitude of ticket stubs!)…which is a major Silver Lining of this book!

Below are some snippets from the travel section of the book. Hope that you enjoy this book as much as I am!

Egypt

Italy

Russia

  1. Hi Hollye,
What a relief to hear you have piles of photos and memorabilia too. And it seems to weigh more heavily since the cancer diagnosis. Got them all sorted and into plastic storage containers this fall. Okay, so there they sit in the dark and gathering dust in their lovely containers! I need to get motivated!! Thank you for the book suggestion….. although looking through it could lead to more feelings of inferiority. heh hehe.

  2. Hollye,

Thank you for your site and I am so grateful I recently found it. My 2 year anniversary from hearing "I'm so sorry to have to tell you this, but you have cancer," is November 12th and it still feels like it was yesterday. I have years of pictures and memorabilia to work through and I would like to do it in a creative way for my family members. I have been trying to decide if I should buy Charlotte Moss's new book so I really appreciate your posting some snippets from it. The work is beautiful. Thank you again for your inspirational web site.

    Namaste.
    Nancy

    1. Dear Nancy,
Thank you so much for your kind note. I really appreciate it.
I'm so glad to hear that you are two years out from your "I'm sorry to have to tell you" conversation.
I hope that you enjoy the book. I sure feel inspired by it!
Please take good care and stay in touch!

  3. Nancy, I am also coming up on my anniversary date of November 13, 2002. I got that same call from my surgeon after my biopsy. "I'm sorry but….. you have", as Hollye says, FBC!
Hollye, if the sample pictures are an indication of the quality of visual photos in Charlotte Moss's book, "A Visual Life" I must get it. Thanks for sharing.

  4. Just saw this post, so beautiful. I am doing something similar with all photos and memorabilia I have, this post has given me some wonderful ideas, must get that book! Hollye, your blog rocks.
