Sometimes Silver Linings (SL) are part of my (early!) morning, which makes for a joyous way to start the day.
Buzz and our 4 3/4 (soon to be 5!) daughter come into our bedroom in the wee, pre-dawn hours eager to start the day (that’s NOT the SL part!).
One of them takes my side of the bed. The other takes The Husband’s side of the bed. As of on cue (what am I saying? Of course it’s on cue!) they both start breathing heavily into our ears. Heavy. Panting. (Think: Gas Mask.) I don’t know if Buzz taught 4 3/4 or the other way around. Definite strategery either way.
Buzz is eager to go out to do his business and then EAT.
4 3/4 has learned to look out the window for beautiful a beautiful sunrise. Here comes the SL…
Talk about motivation to get my sluggish, groggy and dazed self up. “Momma, Momma,” she says, “Come look at the beautiful Sunset…I mean Sunrise.” Ok. Ok. Ok. I couldn’t possibly say no to that!
And out we go while The Husband (of the Year, now two years running) rolls over and goes back to sleep…or tries to.
When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive – to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.
