Happy Birthday to The Silver Pen!
Wow. Three years ago today, I wrote my very first blog post. Three years? How on earth is that possible? I can’t fathom it. Truly. What started as a way to communicate with family and friends about my very nasty, unexpected and debilitating experience with FBC (f-bomb breast cancer) has evolved in ways that I never in a gazillion years could have imagined. The Silver Pen community inspires me every day. Your feedback, comments, stories and suggestions make my heart and soul so very happy.
I’m so grateful and honored to find Silver Linings with you each and every day.
In thinking about the 1677 posts that I’ve written in the past three years (HA! that number just made me spit out my tea!), I was reflecting on my three favorite blog posts:
- The Diagnosis
- Talking with Children About Cancer
- Announcing the publication of The Silver Lining: An Insightful and Supportive Guide to Breast Cancer. Speaking of which, if you haven’t pre-ordered it yet, could I ask a humongous favor and would you consider doing so? In the book world, I’m learning that pre-orders are a BIG deal. And in the next week or so, more big news: I will be relaunching the blog. Yep! It will have a whole new look and feel. The reason that I am doing so is to make it easier for people who are looking for information to be able to find what they need. I hope that you all will like it.

First congratulations on your 3 year anniversary. Second, I have preordered the book for my friend and am looking forward to perusing it myself. I reread the first entry and was moved by your honesty. I always enjoy your Blog and have gained insight from it, but today I copied the poem "Don't Quit" because…well, I needed to hear it. As my husband, who has early onset dementia, fell down for the fourth time this week and muttered a question I could barely understand, I was wanting to "fall into a heap". Sometimes I do- want to quit. Thank you for your encouragement. I can't wait to view the new and improved blog. You are such an inspiration to so many! xxo
