In keeping with today’s summertime theme, I was delighted to see the Vogue feature on the Richards Family in Turks and Caicos.
The Richards (as in Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones) family always amazes me. The fact that they have remained so closely in tact for decades (despite the sex, drugs and rock and roll — literally) is amazing and wonderful. They are consistently (virtually always!) portrayed as a cohesive and loving family (Silver Lining).
Patti Hansen’s experiences with cancer (breast in 2005 and bladder in 2007) were quite a shocker, especially considering her Über healthy, pilates-loving, organic food eating lifestyle; however, she has come through the scary and tumultuous experiences beautifully (literally and figuratively). It is wonderful to see the whole family so happy and healthy on their family vacation on Parrot Cay in Turks and Caicos.

She's an amazing woman – inside and out!
There are a few scattered rain clouds here this morning with the sun is just peaking through. A most beautiful silver lining. Made me think of you.
Have a wonderful silver-lined weekend!
Kim
Ahhhhh, what a sweet note, Kim. Thank you! Hope you have a silver-lined weekend as well!

Thank you for a beautiful and inspiring website, but I do have one comment. People don't cause their cancer by not being virtuous enough, or beautiful enough, or healthy enough, or tough enough, or by having a bad attitude. They get cancer because their luck ran out. Surviving the treatment is hard enough without someone making you suspect you did something to deserve it.
Thanks so much for your note. I couldn't agree more, Laura. Very, very well said. I really appreciate your comment.
Best,
Hollye
Great photos, fun website, glad I found it.
Thanks a million, Tom. I sure do appreciate your note. Welcome to The Silver Pen!
