December’s Special Silver Lining: Joy
With the holiday season upon us, the word that immediately comes to mind is “Joy.” After all, if ever there were a season for it, this is it! C’mon…work with me here. Joy is defined as: “the emotion of great delight or happiness caused by something exceptionally good or satisfying.” How great is that?
Oh and if or when you might harbor doubt about the presence of Joy during the holiday season, all you have to do is look at a child. Case in point: Suddenly Seven’s face radiated with Joy as we were decorating our Christmas Tree (after lighting the Menorah, of course) tonight.
Additionally, my dear friend Chef Maili (who is responsible for many of the recipes in the Nourish section of the blog!) loooooooves the word “Joy.” So much so in fact that she seeks out (and always finds) it in every single day. Love her for that. You can see her daily references on her Facebook page.
So, this month’s special Silver Lining is “Joy,” including where and how to find it. I wholeheartedly agree with the quote above that being focused in the present moment is a terrific place to start.
As always, I’d love to hear from you. Please share your quotes, inspiration, and stories about joy. They are what make our community so very special!
