Solitude by John O’Donohue

It is raining her today in Santa Barbara. I’ve never enjoyed rain so much as I have living in Santa Barbara.  In addition to filling our desperately dry foliage with much needed moisture, rain begets snuggling and bugging (double Silver Lining).

I thought that this poem was very synchronous with this morning’s Soulful Sunday post.  I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do!

  1. Dear, dear Holllye,
Are you certain we have never met, spent hours of time together talking over the importance of what is right and proper, or debated over the differences of out hearts and minds? I have only been sharing on this site a short week or so, but I feel a real connection has taken place that warms my heart but is also frightening. Does it sound strange to you that I feel I am somehow being tested?

You have brought the tears from the pit of my stomach to
my cheeks, and I do feel better, but there are so many unshed tears waiting for my permission to be released.

I feel the topic today regarding solitude is more a test of the soul, a decision
to choose not between right and wrong but more introspective. Am I really
true to myself? Thank you for bringing this to light. I must search my soul more carefully, and report my findings at a later time when I am more sure I am being totally honest.

My sincere gratitude to you for helping me to see more clearly.

    1. Dear Fran,
Thank you again for your thoughtful, insightful and reflective comment. I couldn't agree more! Thank you so much for reading and engaging! All my best,
      Hollye
