Dear Friends,
I am honored, humbled and thrilled to tell you that The Huffington Post is publishing the Brookside Buzz, from the beginning.
As you may know, The Huffington Post is an internet newspaper, news blog and video community. It was founded in 2005 by Arianna Huffington, Kenneth Lerer, and Jonah Peretti. The Huffington Post is big, really big with over one million comments made on the site each month. This is such an incredible opportunity, for which I am so very grateful.
Here is the link to my first post on The Huffington Post (and the first post I ever wrote): http://www.huffingtonpost.com/hollye-harrington-jacobs/my-world-stopped-diagnosi_b_814507.html
I really and truly cannot begin to thank you enough for reading the Brookside Buzz and for taking this roller coaster journey (in the front car, no less) with me. Though this FBC is truly an F-bomb, I continue to find and be eternally grateful for the Silver Linings that I find throughout every single day.
I am learning, growing, healing and heaving throughout this process. And you know what? 3 out of 4 is pretty darn good!
One of the most poignant things that I’ve learned is that cancer (any illness, really) exists within an ecosystem of family, friends and community. Having a support system, however one describes it, makes all the difference in the world (SL).
Let’s keep on laughing, living and loving. No matter what.
Gratitude is an art of painting an adversity into a lovely picture.

Hollye – I saw the HuffPo link on Facebook – shared by my friend here in Kansas City, Annie Shelton Anderson. I saw that the two of you are FB friends and something about your name looked so familiar. I was also SMC '93 – was a transfer student and didn't live on campus for very long so I don't think we knew each other. Anyway…very small world! I've read only the first installment of this story thus far but I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. The strength you've all shown is amazing.
Hollye, I am grateful many others will now be able to access and experience your incredible spirit and the depths of wisdom that grow through you each day. Meanwhile, sending you oodles of SL and hope for a calm stomach.

Hi Hollye,
Rebecca shared the link to Huff Post on Facebook. After having spent the last few hours reading–WOW. I am amazed by your willingness to share such an honest portrait of your experiences and can only imagine how daunting it must be to fight FBC and be a mom Sounds like you are going both with grace and humor 🙂 Sending you best wishes from Chicago for a happy tummy.

So proud!! Congratulations on everything you've accomplished so far, from kicking FBC's butt, to raising a beautiful little one, to showing the beauty and light I see in you every day to the rest of the world – I am so happy for you!!
Happy birthday to little F, give her a huge hug for me and tell her I think about her daily!!
All my love!

The Huffington Post is lucky to have you!! What a great day! 4 3/4 is now 5! Woohoo! SL for sure :). Love you more everyday!
I found your amazing words today on HuffPo and am still fumbling for words. Thank you for writing, for refusing to let FBC take your voice. I laughed, I cried, and I am coming along for the ride.
Sending warm thoughts of strength, healing and courage from the heart of the Frozen North (Fairbanks, Alaska).
Hollye,
Found the site through a blog on Crain's. It made me cry, laugh out loud and share parts with my own HOTY.
I was given the news that I had FBC (best F***ing description ever!) on October 25th 2010. Due to variuos f***ups by the radiologist I ended up not having radiation before chemotherapy. Felt like I was in a bad Felini (can't remeber how to spell) movie. But because of all the drama turns out you and I are on the exact smae chemo schedule!! Same treatmet for 6 cycles just mine is ACT. Reading your blog has definitely been my SL for today. Many, many blessed SL's have occured throughout my battle with FBC. You have been one of the most soul satisfying. Much appreciation and blessings, Patti
Dear Hollye,
Now that my wife has been in remission for five years, I recall some sage advice I was given. That was, I told her
daily, that she should project herself two years hence from
today, forward–not backward– and conjure her new health
and regimen in such a context. She is still here with today's modern treatment. Your joy will come when you are
finally free of its contamination; and more mindful of your
strength to cope with life's lesser pains. Enchantment pervades your current vision; its hope will also help to guide you; its strength a positive force to regain normalcy
–its memory a dull blur on the road to complete recovery.
