One of the many Silver Linings of my life is living in the beautiful state of California. This Thanksgiving weekend, I have hiked, played tennis, and swum – outside. On Thanksgiving evening, we roasted marshmallows and made S’mores – outside.
One of the other things that I love to do is eat outside.Though there are no known health benefits per say, I happen to think that dining outdoors provides a great benefit to my emotional and spiritual life. I think that food tastes better when consumed outside. There’s something about the fresh, clean air that is simultaneously peaceful and invigorating.
Eating outside is also romantic. It’s super special and let’s face it, everyone looks attractive by both moon and candlelight (Silver Lining).
Another one of the benefits of outdoor dining is the opportunity to bond with friends and family. There is nothing quite like a Sunday lunch or picnic or barbecue outside. Good food, fresh air and family gatherings: what’s better?!?
I’ve been inspired by many beautiful shots of outdoor dining around the internet. I hope that you enjoy! Also, it must be said that I hope you’re not too mad at me for this post (especially if you live in a snow belt!).
One of the delights of life is eating with friends, second to that is talking about eating. And, for an unsurpassed double whammy, there is talking about eating while you are eating with friends.

So beautiful Hollye, and so inspiring! What's better than a picnic? Nothing, except maybe a beautifully set table al fresco and someone to wait on you… my inner duchess loves that.
And I love your inner duchess! Thanks, Frances!
Yes, yes, yes!
