This week, I had the opportunity to take a beautiful hike with a dear friend. I was happily overwhelmed by the beauty of this particular hike. It was as if the mountain was truly alive.
This is the first year in a whole bunch of years that California has been moved out of the drought category (Silver Lining). This doesn’t remove the threat of fire, unfortunately, but it does make for extraordinary sights, smells and sounds.
What a Silver Lining this hike was – for so many reasons!

Oh I love your photos of your time hiking in Santa Barbara. You captured the most intricate parts of nature. Love it! I can't wait till I can go back to beautiful Santa Barbara and lounge on the beaches or take a hike up a side of a mountain. Favorite part? The hotel I always stay at-the Sandman Inn (www.thesandmaninn.com). So ridiculously cheap and quaint.

I honestly think that the layout of your blog is the cutest thing ever! Your pictures are fabulous as well. It is always nice to take a camera out hiking, especially when you're in Santa Barbara. One of my favorite past times is hiking in Santa Barbara. Very reminiscent of my college days at UCSB. Love going back and hitting the old trails whenever I'm there, especially the ones out in Goleta like Cathedral Oaks! Always stay at the South Coast Inn http://www.goleta-hotel.com. Well above the other hotels in the area by far.

Theres a lot to see and appreciate when coming to Santa Barbara like, how naturally beautiful it is and how lucky we are to have such a place so accessible to us when we need an escape!
