How cute is this Chick-a-Dee Smoke alarm? I mean, really. It is in the shape of the adorable American Black-capped Chickadee perched on its branch. According to the website where it is sold, Dutchbydesign, the Chick-a-Dee smoke detector is easily fitted to the ceiling. As soon as smoke is detected an 85 db alarm signal is activated (this means REALLY loud!). It boasts an impressive 1.5-year battery lifetime. When the battery goes dead, an alarm signal will be played so you will know when to replace the battery (Silver Lining…because when our alarms stop working the lights simply cease to flash…and I don’t exactly pay attention to that!).
The alarm is available in white, pink, blue and white/black for a reasonable $69.00. Though I hope we (and you!) NEVER have to use one, this will be a cute AND practical way to protect us (Silver Lining).
