I’ve always been a big fan of Aerin Lauder’s style: timeless with a twist. My personal style tends to be very similar (or at least aspirational!) to Aerin’s.
Says her friend Michael Kors, “Aerin continues the legacy of stylish American women like C.Z. Guest and Jackie O., who combine the idea of simplicity and luxury with an eye toward quality and timelessness.” I couldn’t agree more!
When it comes to shoes, she has said “there is no in-between: It’s flats or four-inch heels.” I feel the exact same way…except that I top out at about three inches….or else I would topple. Literally.
With regard to jewelry, she said in an interview “I love both real and fake jewelry. My kids make me necklaces, and I wear those, too. Every day, I wear my gold wedding band and the Cartier watch my husband gave me. Most of my fine jewelry has been a gift to me from Estée or my parents or my husband.”
In 2012, she is launching a fashion and luxury lifestyle brand under the name, “Aerin.” Though I have “lifestyle fatigue,” (i.e., it seems like every other person is creating a “lifestyle brand”) if anyone could pull it off, I believe that Aerin Lauder can! I’m actually super excited to see how this project rolls out.
There is a wonderful profile of Aerin’s Wainscott home by Lauren Santo Domingo on Vogue.com. The home in East Hampton was inherited twelve years ago from her grandmother, Estee Lauder. It is elegant, sophisticated, modern and cozy. A Silver Lining combination, if you ask me! Hope you enjoy it!

Love her too. With her BOLD use of saturated colour, STRONG pattern and edgy mix, she has created her own 'authentic' (overused word if you ask me) personal style which reflects her personality so perfectly. So….. I can understand how you would identify with her and her taste!!! She's pretty darn great and so are you!!
