A lovely reader who recently (& unfortunately) joined the FBC (F-bomb Breast Cancer) club asked if I would write a post describing how I tie my scarves (on my head). So, here it is!

Hope – Emily Dickinson
Hope is a wonderfully magical and sustaining Silver Lining presence during this breast cancer period in my life.
Home Sweet Home
After a week of breast cancer treatment, there is nothing like coming home…home sweet home.
Fabulous Ferry and Lousy Lymphedema
As I continue on this breast cancer journey, for every downer, there are two Silver Linings. The nicest, most amazing things happen. When I need them the most. Every. Single. Day.
Silver Lining Book: Unbroken
In the event that you have been living under a rock (like me!) and haven’t heard about this book, I’m super excited to introduce it to you. Unbroken is an historical account of one WWII POW that is simultaneously enthralling, appalling, inspiring, and staggering. It certainly gives my breast cancer a great deal of perspective.
Preparation as Protection
I feel like the luckiest girl in the world (aside from breast cancer, of course).
One of the reasons that I feel so fortunate is that I live in Santa Barbara, one of the most beautiful places on earth. When I say beautiful, I mean spectacular.
However, it is a fire zone. And an earthquake zone. GULP. BUT,the Silver Lining is that we are now equipped with the knowledge and supplies to help protect us in the event that something (another GULP) happens.
Radiation Reality
Today was day 1 of 25 Radiation Treatments for my breast cancer. Radiation is the third of three legs of this treatment stool. I am hopeful that that this stool will be a strong and solid foundation that will last for generations to come.
Radiation Rehearsal
Today is the day of my “dry run” of radiation for breast cancer. My nerves are on high alert; however, the Silver Linings continue to appear.
Fashion SL's: Set in Style: The Jewelry of Van Cleef and Arpels
While in New York, I went to the Set in Style: The Jewelry of Van Cleef and Arpels exhibit at the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum. For a period of time, I completely forgot that I have breast cancer. What a Silver Lining!
Friday's Fixin's: Mollie's Passata Soup
One of my all-time favorite restaurants is Trattoria Mollie in Montecito, California. The food is not only delicious and nutritious, but also made with a whole lotta love.
