Buzz's Birthday

Today, we celebrated Buzz’s Birthday.  He is (yes, you guessed it): Finally Five.

Buzz is now not to be confused with our daughter, who herself is referred to as Finally Five. She did not let anyone forget the fact that she is still his older sister (by 6 months).

Thanks to all who have inquired about Buzz’s health.  After his diagnosis of Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC) in January (no, I still can’t believe it!), he is doing fine.  As long as he doesn’t exercise – ever – his doctor thinks that there is every reason to believe that he will live a normal lifespan (Silver Lining).

Buzz started the day with a fluff and puff by the wonderful Ian of Santa Barbara Groovy Grooms who swings by our home to do the bathing.  It took Buzz a little while to get used to the driveway cleaning, but now he and Ian are buddies.

After Mr. Fancy Pants finished his bathing, we treated him to a family singalong of Happy Birthday (no doubt thrilling for him) followed by a cookie (the best part of his day, I’m quite sure).

Since post-raditation my return home from San Francisco, Buzz continues to be a Stage 5 Clinger.  I admit that I love it.  There is nothing like having his ginormous, loving and beautiful brown eyes staring at me saying, “I love you!”

Our birthdays are feathers in the broad wing of time.
