Sunday Snapshots: Flowers Plus

Since my diagnosis last year, my extra appendage (in addition to our dog, Buzz) has been a camera. When I was at the bottomless pit of chemo despair, one of my great joys was walking (often slowly) around our yard taking photographs. A big Silver Lining was that I was able to walk around our yard in January taking photographs of flowers. I told you it was a big SL.

I’m still crazy about shooting images. Some are good. Some are not. What I know for sure is that they all make me happy!

Finally Five has joined in the fun on more than one occasion!

This is one of my all-time faves!

  1. Happy birthday! I think…. Seems to me a great day to celebrate. I love the shot of hands- so very tender.

  2. Love, love, love this post! I can see how the last picture is one of your all time faves!! I can also relate to the coral rose that's looking a little rough around the edges…hee hee. Your roses are beautiful…. and yes, even in December!!!!

  3. This site has given me so much insight. I thank a sweet young lady that accidentally that led me to The Silver Pen. I have breast cancer-was diagnosed October, 2011. It took 2 surgeries to remove the tumor. Then I reacted to the titanium markers left in me for future use. This past Friday, December 17th, I lost a beautiful lady to cancer that survived this horrible disease for nearly 8 years, 3 years longer that she was told she had. She is my husband's sister-in-law, but we agreed years ago we were sisters of the heart. I whispered to her on Friday that I don't know what I will do without her. Her cancer wasn't breast cancer. But any cancer is heartbreaking. When I went to the gift shop while visiting her at the hospital I found a tee shirt. It's black, has a huge pair of bright pink sequined lips on the front. It says " KISS CANCER GOODBYE". Meanwhile, I tend to ramble at times, I am doing ok at this point. Have had several followup mammograms, blood draws and different tests because of other problems. I'm sorry for the rambling, but I tend not to talk about myself much unless I'm asked specific questions. I'm so glad this site is available. Thanks to you all!

    1. Dear Dorene,
Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful note. I don't think you're rambling at all! In fact, I appreciate your story very much! Please take good care and stay in touch.!
