Fashion Silver Linings: Aperlaï Moccasins

I’ve just come across some fabulous new shoes that I am super excited about: Aperlaï Moccasins (SL).

I definitely  have a REAL thing for shoes. Kind of like my penchant for white shirts. Too many (well, that’s not really possible). And I adore them all!

The company is a collaboration between the French brand’s president and creative director, Alessandra Lanvin (yes, connected by marriage to the original Lanvin family) and Geraldina Bassani Antivari.

They have designed a new flat, what they are calling a “moccasin”, that is both comfortable AND chic.  Now THIS is my kind of shoe!

Inspired by 1950s Katharine Hepburn, Aperlaï’s “Louise” moccasin is a mix between ballerina shoes and slippers.

I’ve always preferred an elegant  flat  to sky-high tippy shoes as I call them (because I tip over-literally-in anything over 2″!)

I adore leopard print. Especially on shoes. Mainly on shoes. I wear leopard print with all black, all white or a little khaki trouser and white blouse (of course).  I don’t have any intention to wear a leopard print scarf to cover my bald head, though.  I think that would be a little too much.

The moccasins are vailable exclusively at Bergdorf Goodman (my home away from home in New York) in February.  So fun to look forward to!

Hope you all have a Silver-Lined fashionable day!

Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.

  1. Great tennis! I was hoping the Open was a good distraction, especially at the time of day it is on tv – the crack of dawn! Nadal was supposedly suffering from a virus. He looked pretty healthy to me. You'll be back hitting that ball soon!

  2. Finally someone has taken the look of Belgian Shoes and given it more chic! I have that very print from Belgian, but the sole on this one makes a more attractive line! Thanks for posting!
