Fashion SL's: Jules Allen Cashmere

Jules Allen is one of those people who, if she weren’t so darn nice, a girl could really be snarky about her because she is gorgeous, talented, fun, loyal, energetic, and oh so sweet (and itty-bitty!).

She designs my favorite cashmere line, Jules Allen Cashmere. I wear her cashmere all the time because it is chic, accessibly priced, and made with love (Silver Lining!).

At a recent event, I saw a woman who put a Jules Allen Cashmere cardigan over an Oscar de la Renta cocktail dress with a big belt.  Such a great look that further exemplified how many different ways her designs can be worn.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Below is a profile on Jules that was especially fun because I learned things about her that I never knew.

When I get up in the morning, I…make coffee. I am not a morning person!

Before I go to bed at night, I...watch something funny and mindless (e.g., 30  Rock or Modern Family or SNL) or play a little ‘words with friends’ on my iPhone (I’m obsessed).

Why cashmere? J’dore cashmere! My husband said when he met me: “You even work out in cashmere!” …which clearly doesn’t say much for my workouts!

In 2001 when I was pregnant with my twin daughters, I would get my 6 year-old daughter off to school and fantasize about cashmere. My first collection also included little girl versions of all the women’s styles

Inspiration is found: I get obsessed with lets say…designing ‘the perfect’ cashmere pant because i want a cashmere pant with some shape to it that has a wide enough opening at bottom that it will go over my ugg boots. So design for me i guess. I keep the collection pretty classic and timeless. It consists mostly of cardigans, wraps and sweater coats. I love color so I pop in whatever i’m feeling each season.

Favorite travel destination: It was always the Hotel du Cap in the south of France or St Barths…until this past summer when we stayed at the Il Pellicano in Italy. It was amazing! I love the sea!

Favorite quality in a person: a sense of humor! Period.

Favorite books: A Catcher in the Rye & everything by J.D. Salinger.

Guilty pleasure: Playing hookey with friends and french fries!

Favorite place to unwind: The Coral Casino in Montecito

Most treasured object: My first thought was my kids but they’re not really objects…so a pair of Mies van der Rohe Barcelona chairs that were my dads.  …and gifts from my husband:)
