I told you that I don’t often like to give practical gifts. I must correct myself because thus far, I have proffered very practical gifts. What might have been a more apt description is that I like to give unusual gifts that most people wouldn’t buy for themselves but end up using all the time.
On that note, my new friend Frances Schultz recently did a super post on her blog, frances and the belle sisters about the value of having a seating chart at a dinner party. I was so excited about this clever idea. I mean how awkward is it to walk around a dinner table leaning over plated food squinting at place cards to find your name and corresponding seat?!?
Of course Frances made hers (because she is über talented and adorable and oh so thoughtful and creative). I, on the other hand turned to Scully and Scully for the purchasable kind.
I happen to think that these “seating arrangers” (as they are called on the website) would be a Silver Lined hostess gift this holiday season.
Enjoy!
Hollye! You rascal! Just sneaking this in with no warning! The Belles and I have danced a little jig for you. Thank you for the wonderful mention – and a beautiful post – as are they all. x!
You're the best! This Irish girl does love a jig!

Hi Maureen,
So sorry I didn't see this today. We'll be in your neck of the woods this spring and will look forward to seeing you then! Hope your trip has been wonderful! xx
Hi Hollye ! We had one in our home growing up , such a lovely memory . My mothers was porcelain and you would write on it with an old fashioned felt tip pen . My snarly brothers and I would erase the names and try to mix it up a bit ! Shameful ! but the parties were always fun !
Sounds like so much fun, Adrienne. So glad you carried it into adulthood. Wait, did you grow up?!?!?
