The Silver Pen Adventures: On our Way to Cuba

This morning, the HOTY (a.k.a Husband of the Year…for the new readers) and I are going to Cuba.  Yes, you read that correctly: Cuba.  I’m so f-bomb excited!

We are going with a group from Indagare, a magnificent travel company. The HOTY and I are usually not group travelers. One time, we tried a group wine tour in Napa and let’s just say that there were a lot of ants in the pants. Not the best image, but you know what I mean. I digress. Let’s just say that the Indagare team is so great that we jumped at the chance to go to Cuba with a group spearheaded by Indagare founder extraordinaire, Melissa Biggs Bradley.

Our itinerary includes an architect-led tour of Old Havana, lunch at El Floridita (Ernest Hemingway’s favorite hang out in Havana), a tour of Ernest Hemingway’s former estate (Finca La Vigia), a private dinner party at an art curator’s private residence, a few mojitos and lots of Afro Cuban Jazz!

I have a Silver Lining feeling that this is going to be a life-changing trip.  I look so forward to sharing lots of stories and photos!

In the meantime, here are some images that are getting me super excited for the trip!

  2. I went to Cuba in 1986 when I was in grad school and it was amazing. I absolutely loved the experience! I cannot wait to see your pictures and know how it is now, 25 years later.

  3. How wonderful for you. I was there a very
long time ago with my parents before Castro &
what an exciting place it was! My Main memory
    was going to Tropicana nightclub
to see visiting great from Paris Josephine Baker
perform. There was a full moon over the out-off-doors
club & she insisted all lights be turned out
& she did entire show by moonlight. Sheer magic!
    Have a fabulous trip.
Memories to enjoy in your eighties as I have.
