Nurturing Nature Walk

This morning is a beautiful, warm sunny Santa Barbara morning, which makes for a perfect morning for a nature walk with Buzz and 4 3/4.  Moving very slowly today (thanks to chemo yesterday) helps me see (and smell) the beauty that our incredible environment has to offer.  Slow, calm, observant mornings like this feed my heart, mind and soul (a great big Silver Lining!).

4 3/4 in her Hunter's for our Morning Nature Walk
Buzz seems to be feeling much better! SL!
The Milk Truck still comes to Brookside, though it is a little slow and rusty
4 3/4 has lots of flowers to share

Whoever loves and understands a garden will find contentment within.

Confession: Sometimes I just hold her hands and wrists to mush on her delicious fat pads
So beautiful AND so fragrant
4 3/4 turned our walk into a game of decorating Momma's bald head by putting all kinds of flowers behind my ears!
We went off-roading to the "Pinecone Path" (that did NOT go behind my ear!)

The morning of life is like the dawn of a day, full of purity, visions, and harmony.

Wishing you all a day filled with beauty and Silver Linings that warm your heart, mind and soul.

  2. Hello,

Maureen Bauchman guided me toward your online journal and I just want to tell you how touched I am by your entries. I used to live in Santa Barbara (worked at SB City College for 6 years – now reside in San Diego) and I had breast cancer in November. I actually underwent a relatively new procedure called SAVI which lasts only 1 week, 2 times a day and radiates only the affected area. Although I have not gone through what you are experiencing, I so relate to your appreciation of the SL's and have a renewed view of life and the value of friendship and love from those who cushion the challenges we face. Thank you for sharing – we who "hear" your thoughts are truly enriched.

    Joan

  3. Thanks Hollye for your calm thoughts & lovely pictures that made me slow down my frenetic pace today. Catching some good Australian tennis?
